NOTE: HTML5 is a temperamental thing. If you are having trouble seeing the game, you might need to update your Chrome browser. The game requires HTML5 + WebGL, which is all built in to the latest version of Chrome. https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

There’s two reasons for this post. First, to let you know things are still going smoothly with Skyling: Garden Defense. We missed last weeks Screenshot Saturday, but we have a big one planned for this week - so stay tuned! Second, we’ve added a new monster type to the game: the FlappyBat! These guys flutter around the level and will slow you down if they touch you, plus make you drop whatever you are holding. They might even steal items and move them around.
The inspiration for this guy is the kleptomaniac bat from the Atari 2600 class ‘Adventure’. He should be a good addition to the gameplay we have. More on Saturday!
It’s time for a post-holiday #ScreenshotSaturday! Even with the holiday food and festivities, I was able to get a ton of work done on Skyling:Garden Defense. Not that you can tell by looking at it, sadly. Most of the work was behind-the-scenes code to get ready for releasing the game. The main visible component added was the addition of some new menu screens. These are still a work-in-progress, but they allow you to choose levels to play, restart levels, and so forth. Here’s a video that shows it all in action.
Here’s the latest images from our test levels. As always, we really really really love your feedback! Seriously, feedback in the fuel that keeps Indie Developers going. Maybe someday we’ll be fueled by mountains of cash, but for now: feedback! You can join the conversation on Twitter, Facebook, or over at this week’s Reddit page. We hope to hear from you soon!
